In 1999, Richard Mansfield won a highly competitive UK Government Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Smart Award which, together with his own investment, enabled him to carry out the feasibility studies required to develop and validate the patented digital technology that is now at the core of all the Company’s products. 
 
With the core technology evaluated and world patents registered, further investment was secured in 2001 from venture capital funds (The Mercia Fund, NESTA and private investors). Scyron Ltd was officially founded in the UK early in 2002. 
 

In the short time since founding, the company has progressed rapidly to develop innovative and intelligent solutions for a wide range of security and surveillance issues. Its ground-breaking work in areas such as event analysis in live CCTV video and the retrieval and storage of body worn video have received government funding.
 
Today, the company is headquartered in Birmingham, UK with established partner relationships in the US and Far East ensure that the company can deliver and support its solutions worldwide.
